University of Rawalpindi (UOR) hosted ICT Day for Girls 2026 on 28 April 2026, organized by the Tech and Innovative Society. The event aimed to encourage female students to actively engage with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and showcase their creativity, technical skills, and innovative thinking.
The event featured a series of competitions, including Web Wizard, where participants designed and presented websites; Creative Canvas Poster Design, focusing on digital creativity and awareness themes; and Digital Voice Blogging, which allowed students to express ideas on technology through digital content. Participants were assigned themes in advance and presented their work before faculty and organizers, reflecting strong preparation and engagement.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 30 students and was supported by faculty members including Dr. Rubab Tahir, Mr. Talal Bin Afzal, and Mr. Jibran Rasheed. Certificates were distributed to participants in recognition of their efforts, while media coverage further highlighted the importance of empowering girls in technology. The initiative reflects UOR’s commitment to promoting digital literacy, inclusivity, and student-led innovation.
