Students from the Department of Computing and Intelligent Systems, University of Rawalpindi, undertook an educational field visit to the National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) and the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) at NUST, Islamabad, on 16 December 2025.
The visit was organised under the academic supervision of Dr Amad-ud-Din (Assistant Professor) and Mr Muhammad Adil (Lecturer), with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to real-world applications of artificial intelligence beyond classroom learning.
During the visit, students were introduced to Pakistan’s growing AI research and innovation ecosystem. Sessions at NSTP highlighted how academic AI concepts are transformed into applied research, startups, and scalable technological solutions. Experts discussed the AI development lifecycle, interdisciplinary collaboration, and skills required by industry and incubators.
At NCAI, students interacted with researchers working on advanced AI projects in areas such as machine learning, data-driven systems, and intelligent automation. These interactions helped students connect theoretical coursework with ongoing research addressing real-world challenges.
The visit provided students with valuable insights into career pathways in artificial intelligence, the importance of continuous learning, and the role of research and innovation in shaping AI-driven industries. Faculty members noted increased student motivation and clearer understanding of the practical relevance of AI education.
The initiative reflects University of Rawalpindi’s commitment to practice-oriented learning and strengthening linkages between academia, research institutions, and emerging technology ecosystems
