University of Rawalpindi Pharm. D Students Visit Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital
University Of Rawalpindi Pharm. D students visited Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH) to gain practical exposure to hospital pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy services, and the professional responsibilities of pharmacists.
The Department of Pharmacy, University of Rawalpindi (UOR), organized an educational visit to Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH), providing Pharm. D students with an opportunity to observe pharmacy practices in a professional healthcare environment.
The students and faculty members were welcomed by Dr. Mohsin Raza Malik, Director Pharmacy, QIH, who briefed the delegation on the hospital’s pharmacy system, workflow, and clinical pharmacy services.
During the visit, UOR students explored key pharmacy sections, including the Inpatient Pharmacy, OPD Pharmacy, Emergency Pharmacy, Pharmacy Stores, and Clinical Pharmacy Services. They observed medication supply and dispensing processes, pharmaceutical storage and inventory management, emergency medication services, and the role of clinical pharmacists in patient-centered care.
The visit provided students with firsthand insight into the practical application of concepts studied in their Pharm. D programme and enhanced their understanding of the pharmacist’s role within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The experience also enabled students to connect classroom learning with professional pharmacy practice.
The visit concluded with refreshments and an informal interaction between students, faculty members, and the hospital pharmacy team, providing an opportunity to reflect on the learning experience and engage in further discussion.
